This week, Nintendo releases one of the hot new Wii games of the year - the new Wii Sports Resort, based on the old Wii Sports.

This version, Wii Sports Resort, updates the old Wii Sports game that came with many Wii console packages when the Wii console was first released. Sports Resort has some new games, and also includes new features to take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is an accessory for the Wii controller that provides lots more control for the motion sensitive Wiimote controller. This new sports Wii game includes 12 different sports, including some new ones like archery, jet skiing, sky diving, and sword dueling.

Some of the early reviews have said the new games take advantage of the technology really well, but might not go far enough, because they don't offer a longer experience with the new MotionPlus technology. With the new games like swordplay and archery, the features of the better control are great examples of use of the MotionPlus technology, and also the older games like bowling and golf have been tweaked to make them a whole lot better in this version. Some reviewers though were somewhat disappointed with the fact that technical issues caused trouble, like having to recalibrate the controller constantly by setting it down on a level surface in between games. They also found that not all games, such as wakeboarding and flying a plane, are as interesting as the swordplay and archery games for example.

Some gamers might be bored with more sports, finding that the mini games are not be as much fun, and the games from the old version, like bowling and golf, don't add much. Still, using the new controller accessory means there's something new to try here, and improve the quality of game play. So, at least for practicing and trying to improve your score, it sounds like it's still worth buying. The Wii Sport Resort package comes with the Wii MotionPlus accessory included, so the $49.99 price tag might be worth it (the MotionPlus retails for $19.99 by itself). Right now, get Wii Sports Resort discounted at Amazon, with free shipping, for $46.99.

Our take is that ultimately, it is probably a good idea to get Wii Sports Resort to add to your Wii games collection and practice using the new Wii MotionPlus accessory.

Nintendo's Wii Fit balance board for the Wii console is one of the hottest gaming releases since it came out a year ago.  Now users are getting much more exercise with some new releases for the Wii Fit.  Tired of yoga and balancing exercises?  Let's get a little more physical folks!

Electronic Arts has released EA Sports Active For Wii, which is the first fitness "game" released by the gaming company known for its sports games like "Madden NFL" and "NBA Live."

You can really burn the calories using Sports Active, in just 30, according to EA spokespeople.  instead of a focus on "eastern" style fitness like yoga, this game uses more active, Western style fitness activities. There's also a 30-Day Challenge which gives users a specific workout routine which includes more structure than other Nintendo fitnes programs.

EA is targeting women with Active, and they know how hard it can be to get to the gym, so using this at home is a great option. Look for Wii Fit bundles, with the Wii console plus Sports Active to be coming out soon.

We're checking the deals on Wii bundles for February 2009, it's pretty clear that nearly all the bundle deals out there are Wii fit bundles.

For anyone who is still looking to buy a Wii console, it's likely you're going to want the Wii fit too at some point so looking at the bottom prices is worth a shot. Check out the Wii fit bundle include more than one controller, additional games, and some even include accessories like a yoga Matt.

All bundles con with the Wii console and one controller, and Wii Fit which includes a balance board and is preloaded with some games. Most systems will come with at least Wii Play or Wii Sports, and sometimes a throw in an extra controller and on shot.

You won't find too many of these Wii Fit bundles that have lots of other games for the week, most of them just calm with one or two others. But you can still save 10% to 20% off the price a retail store by buying a bundle online.

These are a few examples of bundles that we're seeing right now for sale on auction sites:

- A Wii Fit balance board, Wii console, mat, Wii Sports, Mario Kart for Wii, with free shipping
